Employee Review:
One question I, Canaan Martin (webmaster, bartender, expediter, server, and random task doer), have received many times is:

"What is it like to work at Barrio Brewery?".

This is beyond simple to answer.

It is amazing. It is fun. It is exciting. It is always different but never scary different. It's enlighteningly different, fun different. Doing the same thing over and over again becomes boring and ignites questions in one's mind like, "What am I doing with my life?" or "Why am I wasting my time?". Working at Barrio has never provoked these questions. The awesome environment lets me be myself and there is nothing more important. It never actually feels like work.

Because of this I show up early to almost every shift. I usually leave late also. I take pride in the knowledge that the owner, my boss, and my co-workers have my back no matter what. If I need something I know that an overwhelming majority of employees will come to my aid and because of that I will do the same for them.

It is a brotherhood, a sisterhood, a group of same minded people who enjoy their lives and their jobs here at Barrio Brewery. The focus is relaxation and fun. Sure some nights are more stressful than others, but that will be found everywhere, always. The idea of being stressed at work is never the first thing on any of our minds. We all love the place.

Barrio Brewery is my friend, it is there for me and I am there for it.

This is all made evident in the eyes of our guests. When people come in they are overwhelmed by the fun, relaxed, and happy atmosphere. The building itself is full of character, completely unique just like our food and beer. If we weren't having a good time how could we ever expect guests to?

I've been told never to end on a question so I will end on a philosophical note.

"If you have a job you like, you will never work a day in your life." - Someone smarter than me (maybe my mother, I don't remember).

I like to be me and Barrio Brewery lets me. Never have I had a better "job" if you can even consider it that.
